Pro Wildlife Niagara handles mouse control for homes and businesses across the Niagara Region, from St. Catharines and Welland to Niagara Falls, Grimsby and the towns in between. We hold an Ontario structural exterminator licence. We use locked, tamper-resistant bait stations, check the outside of your home for the gaps mice use and seal small gaps while we’re there. Choose a one-time visit for $279 or a one-year warranty package for $549, plus HST. Call (289) 273-2251.
Mice are small, quiet and mostly active at night. The first sign is usually droppings, or a light scratching sound in the walls or ceiling after dark.
Mice move indoors as the weather cools, so fall is often when people first notice them. A house offers warmth, food and quiet places to nest. Mice fit through gaps about the width of a pencil, so the openings they use are easy to miss: around pipes and wires, foundation cracks, under garage doors, dryer and exhaust vents, and where siding meets the foundation. They can also climb brick and siding to reach gaps at the roofline.
One mouse is rarely just one mouse. Mice breed quickly, and a few that get in during the fall can become a bigger problem by winter.
Every job follows the same order:
Yes. Mice in the walls usually come up from the basement or in through a gap at the foundation or roofline. We check those spots from outside, seal small gaps we find and place bait stations along the routes mice use. In the attic, we also check roof vents, soffits and the joints where the roof meets the walls.
The inspection is $75 plus HST. If we find mice and you go ahead with the work on that same visit, we waive the $75 and you pay only the package price, plus HST. If you’d like time to think it over and call us back later, the $75 inspection fee still applies. The inspection fee can be credited toward wildlife removal, such as raccoons or squirrels, but not toward rodent packages. Full exclusion work is quoted separately.
Possibly, for work outside the home. Fort Erie, Lincoln, Niagara Falls, Port Colborne and Welland offer residential rodent rebates of 50% of a licensed company’s bill, up to $200, for outside work only. Lincoln’s program names mice and rats, and Fort Erie’s includes mice. Work inside the home doesn’t qualify. See the rebate rules for each city on our rat control page.
Yes. We also handle mice at businesses and commercial properties across Niagara, using the same locked bait stations and entry-point checks. For commercial pricing, contact us for a quote at (289) 273-2251.
Don’t sweep or vacuum dry droppings, nests or dead mice, because that puts particles into the air. The Public Health Agency of Canada recommends these steps:
For a heavily soiled attic, crawl space or garage, clean-up can be quoted after the inspection.
We offer mouse control across the Niagara Region, including:
Finding bigger droppings, burrows outside or hearing heavier thumping? It may be rats. See rat control in Niagara. Not sure what’s in the attic at all? See what animal is in my attic?

Through gaps as small as about 6 mm, roughly the width of a pencil. Common spots are gaps around pipes, wires and vents, foundation cracks, under garage and exterior doors, and where siding meets the foundation. Mice can also climb brick and siding to reach gaps at the roofline.
Mice travel inside wall cavities and between floors, and they’re most active at night. Light scratching or pattering after dark, often near the kitchen, furnace or basement, is a common sign. Look for droppings along baseboards and behind appliances to confirm it.
Yes. Mice nest in attics. They get there by climbing the outside walls to gaps at the roofline, or by travelling up inside the walls from the basement. Their nests and droppings may need clean-up afterwards.
They can carry germs, so don’t touch, sweep or vacuum them dry. Soak them with disinfectant or a 1-to-9 bleach solution for 10 minutes, wipe them up with gloves on and bag them. Hantavirus is rare in Canada and is linked to wild mice such as deer mice, so take extra care in sheds and cottages.
There’s little evidence that either works for long. Mice may avoid a new sound or smell at first and then get used to it. Closing up gaps and removing food is what keeps mice out.
It depends on the home. Mouse activity typically drops after treatment, once the bait stations are in place and small gaps are sealed. Larger or older homes with many entry points may need more follow-up.
